WHAT ADULTS SAY ABOUT THEIR OWN PIANO LESSONS

"I took piano for a little while then quit. I regret that I did not continue."

"I wish my parents would have made me keep taking piano lessons."

"I took piano lessons but can't play a thing. I wish I had kept playing!"

How am I overcoming such experiences for my students today? PLAY AND PLAY piano book for one thing. Children enjoy playing. As Mr. Rogers is quoted as having said, "Play is the work of childhood." It's how children learn and retain what they've learned.

Piano students at Diane's Piano Studio play singing games--chase games, tug-of-way games, games with partners, games with balls and bean bags. These are all game songs they learn to play on the piano. Group piano lessons help them enjoy the games and learn to play the songs.

All music learning through these game songs transfers as the students advance to the next level.

WHAT I WANT MY PIANO STUDENTS TO SAY AS ADULTS:

"I still remember all the game songs! I can even play them from memory!"

"Game songs made learning the piano more fun!"

HOGS IN THE CORNFIELD, Tug-of-War game song. Song in the PLAY AND PLAY book for playing on the Grand Staff.
