TIME FLIES!

Oh my! Time certainly does fly! I've been so busy that I haven't posted in a while. We've had the piano recital and two summer camps. Then I taught music education courses in June at Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas and July at New St. Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho. I got back from Idaho and completed the enrollment for the new piano year.

We will have a new teacher, Rebecca Harris with us this year. Rebecca introduced herself in a recent newsletter:

“I discovered my love for music at a young age through singing at church and participating in elementary music class. I want to share my passion for music with young children so they can grow up to appreciate it. I am currently pursuing a degree in Music Education at McNeese State University so I can be a qualified elementary music teacher. While preparing for my career, I have taught Music Together class at WE ROCK THE SPECTRUM kids’ gym in Lake Charles. I have also been sharing my musical knowledge through teaching piano with around 15 piano students in the Lake Charles and Ragley area. I am excited to broaden my teaching skills by starting this new position at Mrs. Diane Engle’s studio.”

My daughter, Paige Leger will also be a substitute teacher at the studio. Here's is Paige's introduction:

“I have been around music my entire life, thanks to my mom, Diane Engle. I grew up singing in church and school. I was the music director for at DeQuincy United Methodist Church for 10 years. I also played the flute in the high school band and took piano lessons. That love of music has been passed down to my children, most of which have taken piano lessons from Diane’s Piano Studio. In fact, Sophia is looking forward to learning piano from Ms. Rebecca Harris.”

I am looking forward to a good year in piano and working with all of our students. I'm also very happy to have Rebecca and Paige with us.

I will be posting pictures from the recital and from the summer camps.
