THE CONCEPT OF RYTHM
Students were introduced to the concept of rhythm in piano summer camp. The birthday candles represented the quarter notes and eighths in the poem.


BOUNCE HIGH
“Bounce High” is always a fun game to play in piano class!


EARLY IN THE MORNING
“Early in the Morning” was a fun game song to learn to play on the piano and then play the jump rope game during piano summer camp.


TEA TIME
After watching movies about Handel and Bach and noticing the regular tea time in Europe, these girls were inspired to have tea after practicing on Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” from “The Messiah.”


PIANO CAMP
Older students in piano camp were very captivated by the movie, “Les Choristes”. They appreciated the beautiful music as well as the story.


COBBLER, COBBLER
These girls were practicing reading music in the Bass Clef with the game song, Cobbler, Cobbler. They took turns playing the song on the piano as the others tapped the rhythm to the song on their shoes. They pretended to be the cobbler.


CLOSET KEY
Closet Key is a fun game song in the PLAY AND PLAY piano book. Charlie is playing and singing the song. Can you find the key in her picture? Piano classmates took turns finding the key that was hidden in the mural on wall while another played and sang the song.

DOGGIE, DOGGIE
Beginning students played the game, Doggie, Doggie then played the song found in their PLAY AND PLAY piano book. These students colored the page in their book as the teacher worked with students individually at the keyboard.


OLDER STUDENTS
Jeri and Sophia are studying the major keys with sharps. The Circle of 5ths got them on the right tracks do helped them find the I, IV, and V chords in each key.
