THE GIFT OF PLAYING

My personal reflections in January's newsletter were heartfelt:

"As I was playing the organ during church this past Sunday and then the piano for choir practice afterwards, I was thinking again of how grateful I am to my parents for giving me piano lessons.

Even if I’d never gotten a degree in music, I’m sure I would still be playing at church.

It truly makes a difference in many ways and to many people to be able to play, whether for church, school, family, or any other events."

My granddaughter's picture at the piano goes along with my reflections. I was the age she is now when I first started playing in public. I hope every parent and grandparent pictures their child doing the same thing. That's my desire for all my students, to enjoy sharing their gift of playing.
